LOLER Inspections
for climbing and rigging kit
Our team is authorised to carry out and sign off LOLER thorough examinations on arborist climbing and rigging equipment. If you work at height for a living, we can inspect your kit and give you the records to prove it.
Get your climbing kit examined and signed off
Under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998, equipment used to lift or support a person at work must be thoroughly examined by a competent person at least every six months. For a working arborist, that covers most of what hangs off your harness.
We have team members authorised to carry out those examinations and sign them off. We go through your kit item by item, record what we find, and tell you plainly what passes, what to keep an eye on and what needs to come out of service.
What we look at includes:
- Harnesses and work positioning belts
- Climbing lines, lowering lines and rigging ropes
- Lanyards, strops and slings
- Karabiners, snaps and connectors
- Friction devices, pulleys and rope wrenches
- Rigging blocks and lowering devices
The service is open to anyone, not just our own crews. Self-employed climbers, other tree firms, grounds maintenance teams and colleges are all welcome.
